Special Camps Benefits

  • 210 campers with intellectual disabilities and autism are empowered to develop increased social skills, self-esteem and independence through new activities alongside their teen volunteer in weeklong, overnight camps.

  • 205 families receive week-long respite. Knowing their child is lovingly cared for with 24-hour loving care, from trained volunteers and RN nurses. For many families, this is their only source of respite.

  • 120 Teenagers and 55 Adult volunteers report life-changing insights from living beside the campers they serve. Adult leaders run activities, reside within dorms, and RN nurses dispense all medications and treatments.

  • 140 people with intellectual disabilities living in local group homes and our Special Camps friends enjoy fun, loving Christmas and Easter parties.

Special Camps is a 501 (C) (3) not-for-profit organization. Donations are deductible to the fullest extent of current tax law.
